I'm settling in from an incredible weekend of community, connection, yoga and fun. We had another open class and hang at the farm. I'm not sure how this keeps happening, but every time is even more special than the last. It was a wild one. Here is a cute IG reel for some good vibes. The weather predicted big rain for sure and the day of we had torrential downpour with sleet and ice covered trees. Many people of course couldn't come because of unsafe driving conditions, but a sweet bunch was able to squeeze through and a bunch hopped on the train from the city. It's such an easy option to get here for you city folks. Once we got in that room the sun and radiance came from the inside and flowed out like an ocean. I mean just wow.
Now, even more than ever, it feels incredible to get together.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey, about a third of adults overall (32.3%) reported anxiety and depression symptoms in 2023.
Everywhere you look in the wellness world, anxiety is a big topic. It's a massive problem with deep roots of what we haven't dealt with over the pandemic, the stresses of life now, fears of the future from climate to politics to paying the bills to raising little ones. I rarely meet someone who at base level "feels good" and we all deserve to feel so much better.
The folks that were able to make it this weekend felt the pressure lift. Getting together, moving together, breathing together, playing together, looking at baby horses and mamas together. It's awesome, fun, healing, and this can be more of what we feel all of the time. But we need to make it happen more, on purpose.
Way before 2020, we had a saying in our community, Online is great. In Person is magic. It's true now, more than ever. I am so grateful for our online community with the Strala Yoga app. We practice every day, take good care, and support each other. It's like drinking water. You do it every day (hopefully) But then, we have special moments, retreats, trainings, classes where we get together. Make the effort. It's so worth it. Drink water with people. Take care of yourself around people who are also taking care of themselves. The interest is compounded together. You can be (if you're not already) of of those people who at base level "feels good."
I am one of those feels good people, and it's only because I know prioritizing my practice every day (online) is essential. I know getting together, even when it's hard and scary and inconvenient, is essential. It's not easy to change a habit, but you can and you deserve to feel good.Â
Start today. Crawl down to the ground and move how it feels good.
And when you can, join us together online and in person. Even the act of booking and getting it on your calendar is good for you.
